SOMA

Awakening Potential from Within

What is SOMA?
SOMA is a method based on physical and contemplative research, designed to cultivate freedom of movement, presence, and authentic expression. It focuses on movement that emerges from within—through precise sensing of the body, the mind, and the patterns that shape our behavior. The method weaves together somatic work, contemporary movement, voice, and creative inquiry. Its aim is not to “learn choreography,” but to understand how the body thinks, feels, and acts—and to create change from the inside out.

Who is SOMA for?
SOMA is intended for anyone wishing to deepen their connection with their body and consciousness. Dancers and artists find in it tools that sharpen presence and expression, while people with no prior experience benefit from increased body awareness, the release of limiting habits, and the ability to move freely, naturally, and with greater ease. It is suited for anyone curious to explore themselves through movement, strengthen resilience, refine listening, and create more spaciousness in daily life.

How does SOMA work?
The practice moves between physical exercises and inner exploration. We begin with listening to the body—its tension, its patterns, and the areas that seek movement—and develop the ability to move without unnecessary effort. From there, we shift into conscious processes: softening self-criticism, recognizing constricting thoughts, and expanding the capacity to choose a new response. Working with the voice opens an additional space of expression and release, encouraging fuller presence. Everything is done in a way that allows each participant to move at their own pace and discover the movement that matches their truth.

What does the method offer?
Participants in SOMA develop a more responsive body, movement that is flexible and precise, and a stronger sense of confidence—both on stage and in everyday life. The process enhances grounding and stability, reduces internal strain, and allows movement and voice to become more natural and personal. Freedom of expression grows, limiting patterns lose their hold, and the inner and outer quality of movement becomes richer and more expansive.

Why it matters in daily life
SOMA does not stay in the studio. It affects how we meet life: how we respond to stress, how we maintain boundaries, and how we remain present even in challenging situations. The work cultivates inner stability, softness, resilience, and the ability to stay with movement—even when it is unpredictable.

What makes it unique
The uniqueness of SOMA lies in the integration between precise research and a gentle, human approach. It is neither strictly physical nor solely emotional—it's a blend that allows people to come closer to themselves through the body, understand the patterns that shape them, and grow from within. The work is non-dogmatic and does not seek one “correct” form; it invites each participant to develop their own language and presence.
